MCA 2005 Bespoke Training

We will listen to your requirements and write a bespoke package of slides and case studies which can be presented F2F or via Teams- We can provide this training to Supported Living and Care Home Providers, Local Authorities and Hospitals. All training is written and delivered by advocates with over 28 years experience working within the MCA 2005. Care Act 2014, MH Act 1983 and 2009, Equality Act 2010 and Local and National Safeguarding themes.

  1. The training was beneficial, Sue simplified the legislation side of things in ways we would understand, and the writing of the MCA was bespoke to our service. The session got staff discussing the case studies and putting their views forward around the MCA writing process, which promoted team decision making as well as open discussions around how we assess capacity and what supportive measures can be implemented to support the individual. I would highly recommend the training to others.

  1. Sue and Shianne evidenced their combined knowledge around MCA in their training delivery. Very good training, I would highly recommend.

  1. I found the training delivered face to face (in service) to be beneficial. The session was engaging, informative and easier to understand compared to when its over zoom or other formats. The trainer provided personal experiences and practical examples of people in service, which helped explain the MCA process and bring it to life. This supported my understanding of how to complete MCAs correctly.

  1. The training was very good; I went into the training with very little knowledge around how to write an MCA outcome. Since my training I have assessed two individuals capacity and have written up MCA outcomes which my manager has praised. Thank you for sharing your expertise.

  1. I found the training really good; it offered better insight around how to assess capacity and document the assessment. The training handouts are such a help, I use this information as a reminder and prompt. I would like the face-to-face training with Sue and Shianne every year alongside the E-learning. Thank you
